Welcome to my practice! As a licensed nurse practitioner in Idaho, I am committed to delivering compassionate and thorough care for dermatology patients who are aged 13 or older. My aim is to enhance access to dermatology care in our rural community by providing tailored treatment plans while focusing on your individual needs. I am excited to work together with you on improving your skin health!
About
Jeanna was raised in Grangeville, Idaho, graduating from Grangeville High School in 2003. She attended the University of Idaho for undergraduate studies before transferring to Lewis-Clark State College to obtain her degree in Practical Nursing. Shortly after graduating from Lewis-Clark State College, she relocated to the Treasure Valley and began working as a floor nurse, unit manager and Assistant Director of Nursing before becoming a Director of Nursing. While working in these roles, she went back to school to obtain her Bachelor of Science of Nursing, graduating in 2014. In 2017, Jeanna transitioned to a nursing care advisor role for St. Luke's Health Partners, working with patients most at risk for frequent hospitalizations and ER visits. It is in this role that she really began to see the disconnect between providers and patients while also grasping a better understanding of barriers patients face in managing their health.
In 2018, Jeanna graduated with her Master's degree in Adult Gerontology Primary Care then obtaining her board certification in December of 2018. She began working in dermatology under Dr. Carl Thornfeldt in 2020 at his practice in Fruitland, Idaho where he trained her in medical dermatology and dermatological procedures. In 2022, Dr. Thornfeldt retired and his practice was obtained by a fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. Jeanna remained working in the Fruitland location under the new owner. She obtained her board certification in dermatology in the spring of 2024 from the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Certification Board. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners, Idaho Medical Association and Dermatology Nurses' Association.
​Jeanna's husband, daughter and 2 young sons look forward to returning to join this community where they can enjoy camping, riding dirt bikes, fishing and rafting. She is looking forward to providing personalized care to patients in this same community and providing access to dermatological care that in the past would require travel outside the area to receive.
